UNS C67500 (standardized under ASTM B138 / ASTM B138M for manganese bronze rod, bar, and shapes, ASTM B124 for forging rod, and ASTM B283 for die forgings; historically designated as Manganese Bronze A) is a wrought, high-tensile (α + β) duplex copper-zinc alloy. Formulated with 57.0% to 60.0% copper and balanced with zinc, it is micro-alloyed with Iron (0.80% - 2.00%), Manganese (0.05% - 0.50%), and Tin (0.50% - 1.50%).Crucially, C67500 restricts aluminum to a strict maximum of 0.25%. The absence of high aluminum levels eliminates tenacious alumina surface oxide films, providing brazing and soldering characteristics alongside high tensile yield strength, fatigue resistance, and resistance to marine biofouling and seawater dezincification.
