C37700

UNS C37700 (standardized under ASTM B124 / ASTM B124M for forging rod, bar, and shapes, and ASTM B283 / ASTM B283M for die forgings) is the global benchmark alloy for hot forging and closed-die hot stamping. Metallurgically formulated as a duplex (α + β) leaded brass with 58.0% to 61.0% Copper, 1.5% to 2.5% Lead (Pb), and a zinc balance, C37700 is engineered specifically to yield optimal plastic flow in heated forging dies while maintaining free-cutting performance during post-forge secondary CNC machining.
