IS:319 Grade-2

IS 319 Grade 2 is the most widely utilized free-cutting brass alloy under the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Engineered specifically for high-efficiency repetitive machining, automatic screw machines, and high-speed CNC lathes, it provides an optimal balance between excellent machinability and structural integrity. With a higher controlled lead content ($2.0\% - 3.0\%$) compared to Grade 1, it allows faster cutting speeds, smaller chip formation, and superior surface finishes while maintaining good mechanical strength.
